and the Word was with God,

and the Word WAS God."

The Word of God

"The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever." -Psalm 12:6, 7

Since "our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written" (2 Peter 3:10) of "the Holy Scriptures" (2 Timothy 3:15), which were penned upon "the parchments" (4:13), containing also the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, the General Epistles and the Revelation of Jesus Christ, the body of Christ has made do with what copies of those parchments that they could find and print for themselves and sow as seed along their Pilgrim's pathway. During that unprecedented Pilgrim's Progress of God's people as they "looked for a City which hath foundations, whose Builder and Maker is God" (Hebrews 11:20), the annals of church history has documented the 2,000 year "strange act" of how God Almighty, through the Holy Ghost has purified those very words seven times (Psalm 12:76, 7), through each of the seven churches as they are seen in the Revelation of Jesus Christ (Revelation 1:1) as "one body by the cross" (Ephesians 2:16), even "THAT one body" (1 Corinthians 12:12) "which is the Church" (Ephesians 1:22, 23), even as it is in every age "the Church...which is HIS BODY" (Colossians 1:24). Having been written in Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic, the Word of God "increased with the increase of God" as those Holy Scriptures were translated into Syriac, Latin, German and then into the King's English in a purification of the words through the seven languages, with each one appearing in its time as "the Bright and Morning Star" in its Day. Each of those seven stars have this glory from God and the Revelation of Jesus, "the Seven Stars are the angels of the Seven Churches: and the Seven Candlesticks which thou sawest are the Seven Churches" (Revelation 1:20).

For 400 years before "the Word WAS made flesh and dwelt among us" (John 1:14), the Holy Scriptures were contained "in the Law of Moses, and in the Prophets, and in the Psalms" (Luke 24:44), written in a language so difficult that even the "chief priests and scribes" could not read or quote it correctly (Matthew 2:4-6 c.f. Micah 5:2). Then came this eternal "Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto Him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and He sent and signified it by His angel unto His servant John" (Revelation 1:1), who began his gospel parchment with this everlasting truth, "In the Beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with God, and the WORD WAS GOD" (John 1:1). John wrote further that as "the WORD WAS GOD, the same WAS IN THE BEGINNING WITH GOD" (vs. 2), and "that which was from THE BEGINNING, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of THE WORD OF LIFE...WAS MANIFESTED, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that ETERNAL LIFE, which was with the Father, and WAS MANIFESTED unto us" (1 John 1:1, 2) when "GOD WAS MANIFEST in the flesh" (2 Timothy 3:16) as "THE WORD WAS made flesh" (John 1:14). Accordingly, as "our bodies are the members of Christ" (1 Corinthians 6:15), being "members of HIS BODY, and of HIS FLESH, and of HIS BONES" (Ephesians 5:30), the Anabaptists have never lacked "an unction from the Holy One" to "know all things" (1 John 2:20) from Christ in "understanding the Scriptures" (Luke 24:45) in any language, and "to know the truth" (John ), and "that no lie is of the Truth" (1 John 2:21). With such knowledge of God and from God, the Anabaptists have spilled their blood countless times in defense of the Truth of God's Word in face to face conflicts in "wrestling...against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" (Ephesians 6:12), having seen at every venue and inquisition of men and devils during which Anabaptists without number have "quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword...had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonments: were stoned...sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword" (Hebrews 11:34-46): that even the best of Christian endeavors have many times had "the hand of him that betrayeth Christ...on the table" (Luke 22:21). "The Lord gave the Word", and though "great was the company that published it" (Psalm 68:11), "we are not as many, which corrupt the Word of God" (2 Corinthians 2:17), who even within the best of Books have continually "sown tares among the wheat" (Matthew 13:25). Accordingly, just as before Christ's first coming, there were 400 silent years wherein the Word of God was sealed within a language "without any order, and where the light is as darkness" (Job 10:22), lacking punctuation or grammatical structure that when the Light of Life (John 8:12) appeared (John 1:9), "darkness covered the earth, and gross darkness the people" (Isaiah 60:2) so much that "the Light shown in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not" (John 1:5). So too, in these last 400 years, the Church which is His body has held firmly to the Scriptures that had their original parchments issue forth from the Church at Antioch (Acts 13:1), that the Holy Ghost eternally preserved, and the Acts of the Anabaptists Martyrs of Jesus Christ have repeatedly lived and died by to enable those "parchments" (2 Timothy 4:13) to live on as they were continuously copied over and over again, in God's eternal work of purifying "the words of the Lord" and preserving them and keeping them in the hands and hearts of God's children, "for His body's sake, which is the Church" (Colossians 1:24), even "the Church, which is His body" (Ephesians 1:22, 23). As those Anticochan manuscripts made their way into the 17th century, and the Philadelphia Church age wherein God's faithful "kept the Word of My Patience" (Revelation 3:7-10), even when  as they were given in 1611, knowing the "words of the Living God" were not bound to any imprimature or letters of patent, nor concealed nor limited to registration, copyright or the whims of ecclesiastical or royal authorizations or seals of authority. Hence, the Anabaptists Church has for centuries held to a line of Scripture, commonly called amongst us The King of Jacob Bible, containing not just the words of God, but is in and of itself The Word of God, without error, without equal among all the manuscripts and perversions of men who corrupt, malign, and change the words of the Living God for profit.
